FBGDA
EDITORIAL POLICY AND DEADLINES
In
an effort to provide accurate information to our members
and readers in an accurate and timely manner, the Editorial
Committee has initiated the following guidelines for those
submitting material for publication in the FBGDA Magazine
and the FBGDA Website where applicable.
1.
FBGDA welcomes articles for potential publication in the
Association Semi-Annual magazine known
as LEpagneul Breton and the Associations Official
Website found at www.frenchbrittany.org
2.
It is preferred that such materials be submitted in Word
format, however if not possible, hard copies
will be considered.
3.
Material submitted for the website should be in an electronic
format and may be submitted at
any time.
4.
All written material submitted for publication in electronic
or hard copy form will be subject to editing
and proofreading to insure that it is accurate concerning
grammar and spelling. In most cases the
submission will be edited to meet space requirements, but
without intending to affect substantive
content or the main idea. It is preferred that all written
material be submitted in an electronic
format.
5.
Deadlines for material submitted for magazine publication
are January 15 for the First Semester
Issue and July 1 for the Second Semester Issue.
6.
Once an article is edited for intended use, an effort will
be made to send the edited version to the author
who should indicate whether they have any objection or additional
suggestions within 48 hours. If
no such objection or additional suggestions are received
with that format, then the authors
approval shall be deemed to have been given and the Editorial
Board will proceed with inclusion
for publication.
7.
Once approved for publication by the Magazine Editor or
Website Chairperson/Editor, the articles
become the property of FBGDA and are copyrighted by the
Association. (However, note
that at an authors request, FBGDA will liberally and
gladly grant permission for such
articles to be reprinted in other suitable publications
or to be used for educational or other
appropriate purposes.)
8.
Pictures for both the magazine and website should be submitted
as follows: Pictures for the magazine
must be high-resolution jpeg files (300dpi) and can be submitted
using the same timelines as mentioned
above for the magazine.
Pictures
for the website should be submitted in either .jpg or .gif
format, with the size of at least 200 pixels high. Photos
will not be cropped or edited in any way before being placed
in the gallery. Please limit photos to one image per dog.
Further
information on submission can be found on the website. All
pictures submitted in hard copy will be retained unless
requested and a postage paid envelope provided by the one
submitting the pictures.
Please
realize that your written work or pictures will be utilized
in conjunction with the emphasis and space requirements
of the magazine and website. The ultimate decision for use
and placement will rest with the Editor and Editorial committee
of such publications as time and space do not permit using
all articles and submissions. All materials submitted will
be retained by the FBGDA unless requested and postage paid
envelopes supplied.
