UKC SANCTIONED EVENTS
February, 2007
W.C. Bradley Plantation
Omaha, Georgia
What
a difference a year makes. The day was perfect with
sunny skies and a cool morning at the beautiful W.C.
Bradley Plantation in Omaha, GA. No longer could it
be called the "Soggy Bottom Classic." It
was gorgeous, the fire warm with the smell of pine
burning in the breeze, and our wonderful little dogs
barking excitedly anticipating the day that was unfolding.
Everyone was enthusiastic about the day as we prepared
to get started. We had new UKC Rules to use and learn
along with breaking in a new judge. We were fortunate
to have as Head Judge, Mr. Forrest Moore and Judge
Fred Overby who gave up running his dogs so we could
have another judge to adjudicate the large field.
There
were a total of 23 dogs entered in the TAN and Gun
Dog Division with some dogs coming from Montana, Florida,
North and South Carolina. More than half of the number
entered would be recognized that day in south Georgia
utilizing the new rules. In Heat Two, judged by Fred
Overby, Armand De Grandview known as "Deets"
had five perfect finds, standing completely steady
to wing and shot and made three perfect retrieves
on birds that made it into the gunner Mike Wilson's
game bag.
In
Heat One, judged by Forrest Moore, Alexia de Grandview,
known as "Sadie" had three perfect find,
standing completely stady to wing and shot and retrieving
two shot birds to hand which ere shot by gunner Nancy
Wilson.
