About the Artist

I began my career as a designer in the early 90’s working in more traditional mediums as an artist, more specifically as an illustrator.
I come from a long line of artists, from my great grandfather, my grandfather down to my mother. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s that I began my studies into the world of digital graphic design.
As a freelance designer, I have worked in many capacities which gave me the opportunities to hone my skills for both commercial design and work in publication. During this time I studied at Sessions School of Design and New Media where I received my certification in both graphic design and web design.
This is when I knew I had truly found my niche as I excelled in my classes to the point of completing my studies a year ahead of schedule.
I further developed my proficiency as a designer during my four year employment with TEC Publications. It was during this time that I really gained my proficient knowledge in publishing and production. While my duties at TEC included typesetting, book layout, editing, graphic design and cover design,
I gravitated toward cover design as my area of expertise. From book covers, to CD, VHS and DVD’s covers, this was the area of design in which I really excelled and became truly passionate about.
I also worked as a freelance designer from 2001 until 2011 for Brentwood Publishing, during which time I literally designed over a thousand book covers. I continue to love both the challenge of designing covers, as well as sharing in the excitement of my clients as they following their dreams and careers as published authors.
As a full time designer I have worked at Beacon University, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer newspaper and currently hold position as lead designer for Masterbuilt Mfg.
I am a proud father of four wonderful, talented children and have found it to be the highest privilege to be able to provide for my family in a career that I mutually love and find very rewarding. |
