With some packaging design projects, designing outside of the box is sometimes required, which was literally the case. In the development of packaging designs for a new line of propane accessories, all of the packaging was slated to be contained not in boxes, but blister packs with backing cards and then sold at retail in PDQ boxes or on hanger hooks.
The task included several parts, initial design to present to the factory to build blister packs or clam shell packaging around the product, rendered concepts for presentation to the buyers, mockups for sales and finally files for production runs.
Also, part of the complexity of these items were various regulatory requirements that had to be included with every item while maintaining a consistent look across the product line that had been developed for Masterbuilt’s propane line.
