In the early 1990’s I had finally realized my dream as a comic book illustrator with a small-indie comic book company, Pocket Change Comics.
My intro to the world of comics was a wild ride of tight deadlines, notes from the editor, pre-internet communication via snail-mail, edits and finally going to press; and I loved every minute of it.
Many of the publications had to be rushed in the early days, so two different artists would work the same book just to make deadline.
In those days we received a script from the publisher, notes about characters and a timeline. These were illustrated with pencil, lettered by hand, and then inked. For tones we used the outdated, art of zipatone!
