In 2003 I was approached by a friend who worked at one of the Chattahoochee Library Systems libraries in Columbus, Ga who oversaw programs for children.
She knew of my background of not only reading but illustrating Manga (Japanese comic books); and subsequently hired me to teach children techniques for drawing in that style.
I decided to create a little handout to give to all the participants of the classes and also made posters to advertise the event within the libraries. One location had over 100 people show up; kids, teens, adults, it was a very successful course for the library.
All the artwork was hand illustrated, scanned into Adobe Illustrator and converted to vectors. The booklet was formatted using Adobe Pagemaker.
